Mardi Gras

Join the BU French Cultural Society as we celebrate Mardi Gras ‘Nawlins’ style with live musical guest Jeremy Lyons and the Deltabilly Boys. Lyons’ band is a favorite of the New Orleans club circuit and a mainstay at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. Lyons himself is a displaced Hurricane Katrina refugee now living in Cambridge. All proceeds from the event benefit the NOLA Arts Fund, a Cambridge-based organization helping to rebuild the colorful street-musician tradition in the Crescent City. As part of the celebration, we will be collecting donations, in exchange for beads, January 30 through February 4 in the GSU Link, and at the door the day of the event. The top bead collectors will be named king/queen of Mardi Gras. Did I mention door prizes as well.

I love Tom Yum!!

especially, with shrimps!

I made it myself so the taste is pretty much how I like (sweet, sour, spicy)
Thanks to super88, I can still find Thai/Asian ingredients here.

Tom Yum is really easy to cook. I spent about just 20-25 mins, and I'm a slow cooker! lol

I prefer just to dump the jasmine rice or noodle in there and eat it.

1 of 1,000 places to see before you die

According to the book I read recently (1,000 Places to See Before You Die: A Traveler's Life List by Patricia Schultz) http://www.amazon.com/000-Places-See-Before-You/dp/0761104844, few places in Boston got recommended.

One of them is The Freedom Trail!! (if you're not sure what the freedom trail is, this is the link http://www.thefreedomtrail.org/

I took a class with Professor Mendlinger last semester. We had to do a critique paper about it. We went on the Freedom Trail Tour for real. And, personally, I wasn't impressed at all! The Tour was not good enough to be recommended on the book.

So, now I kinda lost my trust in that book. I'm not sure anymore if the places listed in there will be any good.

Anyone, any comments about the tour or the book?

Creating a blog in class

Ok. This thing is very new to me.
First of all, I do not really use a blog.
Second of all, I never really had anyone professionally teach me how to use the blog before.
And, the last thing is that it is kinda funny that I have to write something unformal in English.

now I'm gonna try to post it and see if it works
